CBSA Releases Annual Bioscience Colorado Magazine at BIO International Convention in San Diego

Colorado BioScience Association is releasing its annual edition of Bioscience Colorado, this week, at the BIO International Convention in San Diego, CA. The announcement is made by CBSA President & CEO April Giles, who says, “In this issue we are looking at the intersection of people and data, and how it benefits human health. Big Data is now playing a critical role within the bioscience industry—from the personal devices on our wrists monitoring our bodies, to electronic medical records housing our health histories—data is valuable.”

Xconomy: 'Colorado Legislators Aim to Reward Angel Investors with Tax Credit'

"Colorado could join the list of states that offer tax credits to angel investors if a bill currently before the Colorado General Assembly is passed...

...Supporters argue that access to seed- and early-stage capital remains a challenge for Colorado entrepreneurs. The Colorado BioScience Association is one of the industry groups pushing for the bill’s passage, along with the Colorado Technology Association and Colorado Cleantech Industry Association. CBSA president and CEO April Giles said her association’s members continue to list raising money as one of their toughest problems.

They think a state income tax credit will help, and they say the tax credit programs in other states have been a boon."

CBSA Commends Boettcher Foundation For Ongoing Commitment To Early-Career Investigators Through Its Webb-Waring Biomedical Research Program

 Today, the Boettcher Foundation Board of Trustees released the names of the eight early-career scientists selected for the fourth class of Boettcher Investigators in the Webb-Waring Biomedical Research Program. The announcement is made by April Giles, President and CEO of the Colorado BioScience Association (CBSA), who said "Our association commends Boettcher Foundation for its ongoing commitment to this stellar program that assists early-career investigators in our state to continue their important research."

Launched in 2010, the Webb-Waring Biomedical Biomedical Research program fills an unmet need in the state by assisting early-career investigators engaged in biomedical sciences to advance their research. Further, the program honors the tradition of Colorado's Webb and Waring families by investing in science that has the possibility of making significant contributions to human health.
